Main Ingredients

  • 1 can can (15 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • a pinch cayenne pepper (optional) For added heat or other spices like onion powder or Italian herbs

Instructions

Preparation

  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the dried chickpeas with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and any optional spices. Toss well to ensure they are evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring there is space between them.

Cooking

  • Cook the chickpeas in the air fryer for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking. Keep an eye on them as cooking times may vary based on your air fryer model.
  • Once done, remove the chickpeas from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.

Notes

Store cooled chickpeas in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 5 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them for up to a week. To refresh, pop them back into the air fryer for a few minutes before serving.
