Ingredients
  

  • 1 box white cake mix 18 ounces
  • 3 pieces egg whites
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 2 pounds powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup water
  • red liquid food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 1 cup of water, egg whites, and vegetable oil. Whisk until smooth.
  • Grease and prepare an 8-inch cake pan and pour in the batter, spreading evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat together shortening and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until fluffy.
  • Once the cake is cool, frost it with a thin layer of white frosting.
  • Use a piping bag to decorate the cake with swirls or rosettes.
  • To create the blood splatter, dip a clean toothbrush or your fingers in red food coloring and flick it onto the cake.
