Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls:
  • Piping Bag or Plastic Bag

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces hard-boiled eggs
  • Food coloring (black, purple, green, or other spooky shades)
  • Water (enough to cover eggs while soaking)
  • 1 splash white vinegar (to set the color)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise (for creaminess)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (adds tang)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • Optional garnish (paprika, chia seeds, or parsley)

Instructions

  • Gently crack the eggshells on the convex side and keep them mostly intact.
  • Prepare a container with enough water to cover the eggs. Add your chosen food coloring and stir.
  • Place the cracked eggs in the colored water, ensuring they are fully submerged. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • After soaking, rinse the eggs gently under cold water with a splash of white vinegar. Peel the eggshells off to reveal the marbled effect.
  • Slice each egg in half lengthwise and remove the yolks to a mixing bowl.
  • Add mayonnaise, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves and garnish as desired.
