Ingredients
6
pieces
hard-boiled eggs
Food coloring
(black, purple, green, or other spooky shades)
Water
(enough to cover eggs while soaking)
1
splash
white vinegar
(to set the color)
3
tablespoons
mayonnaise
(for creaminess)
1
teaspoon
mustard
(Dijon or yellow)
1
teaspoon
apple cider vinegar
(adds tang)
1
pinch
salt
1
pinch
pepper
Optional garnish
(paprika, chia seeds, or parsley)
Instructions
Gently crack the eggshells on the convex side and keep them mostly intact.
Prepare a container with enough water to cover the eggs. Add your chosen food coloring and stir.
Place the cracked eggs in the colored water, ensuring they are fully submerged. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
After soaking, rinse the eggs gently under cold water with a splash of white vinegar. Peel the eggshells off to reveal the marbled effect.
Slice each egg in half lengthwise and remove the yolks to a mixing bowl.
Add mayonnaise, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves and garnish as desired.
