Ingredients
  

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 small box instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups milk
  • orange food coloring optional
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • sprinkles
  • chocolate balls wrapped like eyes
  • gummy body parts like brains, teeth, fingers, etc.
  • any additional decorations

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat until smooth.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Prepare the vanilla pudding by whisking the instant pudding mix with 2 cups of milk until smooth. Add orange food coloring if desired and refrigerate to set for 10-15 minutes.
  • Once the cake is cooled, cut it into circles using the trifle dish as a guide.
  • In the trifle dish, layer the chocolate cake, orange pudding, and Cool Whip. Repeat the layers until you reach the top.
  • Decorate the top with sprinkles, chocolate balls, gummy body parts, and any additional decorations.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to a day before serving.
