  • 2 pieces ripe avocados Should yield slightly when pressed
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lime juiced Adjust for taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely chopped Optional for heat

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits.
  • Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  • Mash the avocado with a fork or potato masher to your preferred consistency.
  • Add the diced tomato, chopped onion, minced garlic, lime juice, and chopped cilantro.
  • Mix everything gently until well combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, stir in the chopped jalapeño.
  • Taste and adjust the flavors, adding more lime juice or salt as needed.

Serving

  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for various dishes.

Notes

Choose ripe avocados for the best flavor. Store leftover guacamole in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface to minimize browning.
