  • 1 lb ground turkey Use fresh, lean ground turkey for best results.
  • 2 pieces bell peppers, diced Any color of bell peppers can be used.
  • 1 piece onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder Adjust for spiciness.
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to your preference.
  • as needed Cooked rice, lettuce wraps, or taco shells for serving Choose your preferred serving option.

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil to coat the bottom.
  • Add the ground turkey and cook until golden brown, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Once the turkey is browned, add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Stir in the diced bell peppers and continue to cook until they soften, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Add chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, mixing well to distribute the spices evenly. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Serve immediately or allow to cool slightly to enhance flavors.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes or minced jalapeños. Fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley can brighten the dish as a garnish. Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to four days or can be frozen for three months.
