Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups half and half
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • teaspoon table salt
  • 5-7 tablespoons Matcha green tea powder

Instructions
 

  • In a heavy saucepan, combine half and half, sugar, and salt. Whisk over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved, avoiding boiling.
  • Add the Matcha powder, whisking continuously until fully dissolved and incorporated. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  • Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 2-3 hours or until fully chilled.
  • Transfer the chilled mixture to your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically about 30 minutes.
  • Once churned, transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 3 hours for a firmer texture.
  • Scoop and serve, optionally pairing with mochi or fresh fruit.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. Let sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before serving for easier scooping.
