Preparation

  • Prepare your slow cooker by ensuring it’s clean and ready to use.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Pour salsa verde over the chicken.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic on top.
  • Sprinkle cumin and chili powder over the ingredients.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Check if the chicken is tender and shreds easily with two forks.
  • Shred the chicken in the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.

Serving

  • Serve the shredded chicken in warm tortillas with toppings like avocado and cilantro.
  • Alternatively, serve over rice or on a bed of greens.

Notes
