Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until fully combined.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and finely chopped green chiles.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
