Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 8 ounces high-quality dark chocolate chopped, at least 60% cocoa
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  • Melt the butter and chopped chocolate together gently over a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth.
  • Stir the granulated sugar into the melted chocolate and butter mixture until well combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt to remove lumps.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check at 25 minutes — the edges should be set but the center still slightly soft.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing for neat, fudgy squares.
