Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
Melt the butter and chopped chocolate together gently over a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth.
Stir the granulated sugar into the melted chocolate and butter mixture until well combined.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt to remove lumps.
Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check at 25 minutes — the edges should be set but the center still slightly soft.
Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing for neat, fudgy squares.
