Ingredients
  

Cupcake Batter

  • 1 box vanilla or chocolate cake mix (or your favorite homemade recipe)

Frosting

  • 1 can (16 oz) of frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Graham Crackers

  • 8 to 10 pieces graham crackers (for crafting the mini houses)

Candy for Decoration

  • assorted varies candies such as mini M&Ms, gumdrops, candy canes, or chocolate chips

Powdered Sugar

  • to taste for dusting or creating a snow effect

Optional Ingredients

  • as desired food coloring (for tinting the frosting if desired)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven according to the instructions on your cake mix box, usually around 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine your cake mix and the ingredients required (usually water, eggs, and oil). Mix everything well until the batter is smooth and well-blended.
  • Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners until they are about two-thirds full.
  • Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for around 15-20 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.
  • Once baked, remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about five minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.

Decorating

  • After the cupcakes have cooled, generously spread frosting over the top of each cupcake.
  • Take the graham crackers and cut them into various shapes to mimic little houses.
  • Using more frosting, attach the mini graham cracker houses to the tops of each frosted cupcake.
  • Use assorted candies to embellish the houses as desired.
  • Dust with powdered sugar for a snow effect.

Serving

  • Arrange your cupcakes on a decorative serving platter and consider adding small labels or cards for fun.
  • Serve these cupcakes with warm drinks like hot chocolate, apple cider, or herbal tea.
