Ingredients
  

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips optional
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Once warm, add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • If using, fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Pour brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy.
