Ingredients
  

Brownie Base

  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder optional for chocolate frosting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until fully combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  • For the frosting: Beat softened butter in a bowl until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, followed by heavy cream and vanilla extract. Beat until fluffy. If making chocolate frosting, add cocoa powder.
  • Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread the frosting over the brownies and allow to set for about 30 minutes.

Notes

Feel free to swap any of the topping in the ingredient list with whatever you have lying around. It will probably taste just as amazing!
