Ingredients
  

Pasta and Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta Cooked until al dente
  • 1.5 cups cubed fresh mozzarella cheese Use high-quality mozzarella
  • 2 pieces fresh plum tomatoes, seeded and cut into bite-size pieces Choose ripe tomatoes for best flavor
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh basil Fresh basil enhances flavors
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Adjust based on spice preference
  • to taste Salt Season adequately
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Add more as needed

Instructions
 

Cooking the Orzo

  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring it to a boil.
  • Add the orzo pasta and cook uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Drain the orzo and let it cool completely.

Preparing the Salad

  • In a large salad bowl, combine the cubed mozzarella, diced tomatoes, chopped basil, and red pepper flakes.
  • Season the mixture with salt and drizzle in olive oil, stirring gently to coat.

Combining Ingredients

  • Once the orzo is cooled, add it to the salad bowl and toss gently to combine.
  • Let the salad sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
