  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips Use high-quality dark chocolate for richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt Provides creaminess and protein.
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder For additional chocolate flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or a sugar substitute For sweetness, use your choice of sugar substitute if desired.
  • 2 large eggs Bind the ingredients together.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances the flavors.
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chunks Optional for added texture.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 30-second bursts, stirring in between, until smooth and creamy.
  • Remove the bowl from the microwave and let it cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, unsweetened cocoa powder, and granulated sugar (or sugar substitute). Mix well until smooth.
  • Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the yogurt mixture, and whisk until fully combined.
  • Gently fold in the melted chocolate until everything is well blended.
  • If using, add the chopped nuts or chocolate chunks and give it a gentle stir.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cool, cut into squares and enjoy your guilt-free chocolate treat!
