Ingredients

Breading Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour Consider adding cornstarch for extra crunch.
  • 1 ea egg Beat before using.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs For the crispy coating.
  • Oil for frying Oil for frying Use enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons sriracha Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

Garnish

  • Green onions to taste Green onions for garnish Chopped for a fresh touch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Ensure shrimp are peeled and deveined.
  • Set up a breading station with flour in one bowl, beaten egg in another, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

Breading the Shrimp

  • Dip each shrimp into the flour, ensuring it is fully coated.
  • Move the shrimp into the beaten egg for an even coating.
  • Coat the shrimp with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure adherence.

Frying the Shrimp

  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Once oil is hot, add shrimp in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  • Avoid overcrowding to maintain oil temperature.

Making the Sauce

  • In a separate bowl, combine sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and soy sauce.
  • Adjust sriracha for desired spice level.

Serving

  • Transfer fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Toss shrimp in the sauce until coated and serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions.
