Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure it is at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk or plant-based milk

Add-Ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use your preferred variety of chocolate.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and milk, mixing well until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed in the dough.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges appear firm but the centers look soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
