Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Mix-Ins

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips Or substitute with nuts or dried fruit if desired

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, watching for the edges to turn slightly golden while keeping the centers soft.
  • Cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Use room temperature ingredients for better texture.
