  • 1 cup tomato sauce Can be substituted with BBQ sauce for a different flavor.
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced Add bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Brioche or whole grain alternatives can be used.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by browning the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add in the diced onion, allowing it to soften with the beef for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain any excess fat from the mixture.

Cooking

  • Transfer the browned beef and onion mixture to the slow cooker.
  • Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir everything together until well combined.
  • Cover and set the slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

Serving

  • Give the meat mixture a good stir before serving.
  • Spoon it generously onto hamburger buns and enjoy while hot.
