  • 1 cup rolled oats Choose rolled oats for better texture.
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based) Use your favorite milk.
  • 1 cup yogurt (optional) Substitute with more milk if preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or agave) Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the oats.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) For additional flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.

Toppings

  • to taste fresh fruits, nuts, seeds, nut butter, or granola Customize your toppings.

Preparation

  • In a bowl or jar, combine the rolled oats and milk. Stir well to mix everything evenly.
  • Add the yogurt, if using, followed by the sweetener, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well blended.
  • Cover the bowl or jar and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the oats to soak overnight, or for at least 4 hours.

Serving

  • In the morning, give the oats a good stir, adding a bit more milk if you prefer a creamier texture.
  • Top the oats with your choice of toppings, like fresh fruits, nuts, or a spoonful of nut butter.

Notes
