Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup 115g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup 40g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup 60g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

Instructions

Preheat the oven

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it with butter to prevent sticking. This ensures your brownies come out perfectly without any hassle.

Mix the wet ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract for that lovely aromatic flavor.

Add the dry ingredients

  • Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir the mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix—this helps keep your brownies fudgy and moist.

Pour the batter into the pan

  • Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Don’t worry if it seems thick—this is normal!

Bake

  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out with just a few moist crumbs, your brownies are done. For a fudgier texture, you can bake it for a slightly shorter time.

Cool and Serve

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once fully cooled, cut them into squares and enjoy your homemade, easy brownies!
