  • 2 medium yellow onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Adjust sweetness and spice level based on preference
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar Adjust for sweetness

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Chop the yellow onions into small pieces and mince the garlic.

Searing

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef short ribs until browned on all sides.

Crock Pot Assembly

  • Transfer the browned ribs to the crock pot and layer in the onions and garlic.
  • Pour in the beef broth, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and add brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle any optional herbs.

Cooking

  • Cover the crock pot and set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  • After cooking, taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serving

  • Serve the beef short ribs over mashed potatoes or rice, drizzling with the flavorful sauce.
