For the dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is soft but not melted.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Add one at a time.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pastel candies

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar using a mixer until light and fluffy (about 3 to 5 minutes).
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and pastel candies.

Baking

  • Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden, and allow to cool slightly on the sheets before transferring to wire racks.
