- 12 large strawberries, fresh and ripe Look for bright red, plump, and firm strawberries.
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chunks Use dairy-free chocolate for a vegan option.
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil Optional, for smoother chocolate.
- ½ cup white chocolate chips or chunks For decoration, optional.
- to taste crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut For topping, optional.
Instructions
Preparation
- Wash the strawberries under cold water and pat them dry gently with a paper towel.
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
Melting Chocolate
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between until melted and smooth.
- Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is evenly coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off before placing it on the prepared baking sheet.
- If using white chocolate for decoration, melt it in a separate bowl in the same manner as the dark chocolate.
Decoration
- Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate-covered strawberries.
- Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut on top for extra flavor and texture.
Setting
- Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature for about 30 minutes or refrigerate for quicker setting.
- Once the chocolate has fully hardened, serve or store as desired.
