  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 bag Nacho Cheese Doritos about 9.75 oz
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup diced tomatoes optional
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt and pepper

Optional Add-Ons

  • to taste jalapeños for a spicy kick
  • to taste chopped green onions or fresh cilantro for garnish
  • to taste mix of cheeses (Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack) for extra flavor

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Brown the ground beef and onions in a skillet with garlic powder, salt, and pepper until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir well.
  • Lightly crush the Doritos chips, keeping some larger chunks for crunch.
  • In a greased casserole dish, layer half the crushed Doritos. Spread beef and creamy mixture over the chips. Sprinkle diced tomatoes if using.
  • Top with remaining crushed Doritos and sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and edges are crispy.
  • Let casserole rest 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to swap the creamy soup base or add extra cheese just before baking for a golden crust.
