  • 1 pound lean ground beef Use lean meat for a lighter dish.
  • 28 ounces can whole peeled tomatoes, undrained and chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 ounce package dry onion soup mix Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups macaroni Can substitute with other pasta types.
  • 0.33 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

  • Brown the lean ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped whole peeled tomatoes and 2 cups of water into the skillet with the cooked beef.
  • Stir in the dry onion soup mix and dried oregano. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Once boiling, add the macaroni. Cover the skillet and allow to simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • When the macaroni is cooked, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Top with shredded mozzarella and let it melt slightly before serving.

Notes
