Preparation

  • Cook quinoa according to the package instructions and let it cool completely.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in short intervals of 20-30 seconds, stirring in between, until smooth.
  • Add the cooled quinoa to the melted chocolate and stir until the quinoa is evenly coated.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the chocolate-covered quinoa onto the prepared baking sheet and shape them into clusters or spread them for thinner crisps.
  • Lightly sprinkle sea salt over the top.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set.
  • Once hardened, carefully break the clusters apart and store them in an airtight container.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. If in a warm climate, keep in the refrigerator to maintain crispness. They last up to a week but are best enjoyed within a few days.
