special dark cocoa powder

sugar

kosher salt

heavy cream

dark or bittersweet chocolate chips
at least 60% cacao

milk

teaspoon
vanilla extract
Instructions
In a large saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, and kosher salt until combined.
Add heavy cream and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture starts to steam.
Remove from heat and stir in dark chocolate chips until fully melted.
Stir in milk and vanilla extract. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Process the chilled mixture in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
If you prefer soft-serve, serve immediately. Otherwise, transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm.
