  • 1 pound ground turkey Lean option for protein
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed Provides texture and protein
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed Adds heartiness
  • 1 can diced tomatoes The base for the chili
  • 1 onion, chopped Enhances flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds aroma
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder Adds spice
  • 1 teaspoon cumin Enhances the chili flavor
  • to taste salt and pepper Seasoning to personal preference
  • 1 cup chicken broth Adds liquid and flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Brown the ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through and browned.
  • Transfer the cooked turkey to the slow cooker.
  • Add the drained black beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper to the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle in the chili powder and cumin, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and stir to combine all ingredients.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Once the cooking time is complete, stir the chili before serving.
