For the Chicken

  • 2-3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts Fresh, quality chicken for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Use low-sodium broth for better control over saltiness.

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Any preferred spices or seasoning (optional) Such as paprika, cumin, or Italian seasoning.

Preparation

  • Start by making sure your crockpot is clean and ready to go.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot in a single layer, overlapping slightly if needed.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the chicken. Add any other spices you enjoy.
  • Pour chicken broth over the seasoned chicken.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Check for doneness; the chicken should be tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Shredding and Serving

  • Once cooked, shred the chicken in the crockpot with two forks, mixing it with the juices.
  • Use the shredded chicken in tacos, sandwiches, salads, wraps, or casseroles.
