Ingredients
  

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6 to 8 oz. each) Use lean cuts for easy shredding.
  • 2 tsp taco seasoning mix Adjust quantity for spiciness.

Salsa and Garnishes

  • 2 cups chunky red salsa, divided Make sure to cover the chicken thoroughly.
  • Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish Adds freshness.
  • Lime wedges, for serving Enhances flavor.

Preparation

  • Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker in a single layer.
  • Sprinkle taco seasoning evenly over the chicken.
  • Pour 1 cup of salsa over the seasoned chicken.
  • Cover with the lid and select cooking time: 3 hours on high or 6 to 8 hours on low.

Shredding and Finishing

  • Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken in the slow cooker.
  • Add the remaining salsa and toss gently to combine.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with lime wedges.
