Ingredients

For the meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef or meatballs of your choice If using ground beef, form into golf ball-sized meatballs.

For the sauce

  • 1 cup honey Adjust sweetness as desired.
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce Consider using low-sodium for a healthier version.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening) For a thicker sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening) Combine with cornstarch for thickening.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • If using ground beef, form it into golf ball-sized meatballs; if using premade meatballs, skip this step.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. If you want a thicker sauce, mix in cornstarch and stir until well-blended.

Cooking

  • Place the meatballs evenly at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Pour the honey garlic mixture over the meatballs, ensuring each is well-coated.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. Keep an eye on them to ensure they are heated through and the sauce thickens to your liking.
  • If thickening the sauce, mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl and add to the crockpot in the last 30 minutes of cooking.

Serving

  • Garnish meatballs with chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
