  • 2 cups beef broth Enhances the meatballs' flavor during cooking.
  • 1 packet onion soup mix Flavor booster for the meatballs.
  • 1 cup melted cheese (e.g., Swiss or provolone) Topping that melts to create a delicious finishing touch.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to combine.
  • Roll the mixture into meatballs about 1-2 inches in diameter and place them on a plate.

Cooking

  • Arrange the meatballs in a single layer at the bottom of the crockpot.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the beef broth with the onion soup mix until fully combined.
  • Pour the broth mixture over the meatballs until they are well-coated.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the melted cheese over the meatballs and cover again.

Serving

  • Once cooked, gently scoop out the meatballs and serve warm. Pair with mashed potatoes, crusty bread, or a side salad.

Notes
