Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground hamburger
  • 4 cups diced potatoes Russet or Yukon Gold are recommended.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic, celery, or other vegetables Enhance flavor with additional veggies.

Preparation

  • Brown the ground hamburger in a skillet over medium heat, then drain excess fat.
  • Transfer the browned hamburger to your crockpot.
  • Combine the diced potatoes and onions with the hamburger in the crockpot.
  • Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth until the ingredients are submerged.
  • Add optional minced garlic or chopped celery for extra flavor.

Cooking

  • Set the crockpot to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheese, then season with salt and pepper.
