Preparation

  • Peel, core, and chop the apples into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  • Place apples in the crockpot and add sugar, ground cinnamon, water, and lemon juice.
  • Stir to coat the apples well with sugar and spices.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Check the apples; they should be very soft and easily mashable.
  • Mash the apples to your preferred consistency using a fork or potato masher.
  • For a smoother texture, blend the mixture with an immersion blender or standard blender.

Serving

  • Serve warm in bowls garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or whipped cream.

Notes
