  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 24 ounces jar marinara sauce About 1 jar
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Cooked pasta For serving
  • Fresh basil For garnish, optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the base of your crockpot in a single layer.

Cooking

  • Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken, covering it completely.
  • Cover the crockpot with its lid and select cooking time: 6-7 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high.
  • About 30 minutes before cooking time is done, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
  • Once cooking time is complete, check if the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  • Serve the cooked chicken over plates of your favorite cooked pasta.
  • Ladle some marinara sauce over the chicken and pasta.
  • Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes
