  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, trimmed
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 1 ounce onion soup mix
  • 10.5 ounces condensed French onion soup
  • 1/2 cup fried onions
  • 2-3 slices Swiss cheese
  • Parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lightly spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
  • Lay the trimmed chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the sliced onions evenly over the chicken.
  • Add the onion soup mix and pour in the condensed French onion soup.
  • Mix gently to coat the chicken in the soup mixture.
  • Cover the slow cooker with its lid and set the heat to HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 4-6 hours.

Finishing Touch

  • About 30 minutes before the cooking time is up, remove the lid and add the fried onions on top of each chicken breast, followed by slices of Swiss cheese.
  • Replace the lid and allow the cheese to melt.
  • Once melted and bubbly, sprinkle fresh parsley over the top before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider searing the chicken breasts before slow cooking. You can customize seasoning by adding herbs or red pepper flakes for heat. Make sure to check the chicken's internal temperature to ensure it's fully cooked, reaching 165°F.
