  • 2 pounds cube steak Tenderized beef cut for slow cooking
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Base for the gravy
  • 1 packet onion soup mix Adds flavor to the gravy
  • 1 cup beef broth Liquid for the gravy
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning
  • Optional: chopped onions and mushrooms For added flavor and texture

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir until well blended.
  • Season the cube steak generously with salt and pepper. Add other seasonings if desired.
  • Place the seasoned cube steak at the bottom of the Crock Pot, making sure to lay them flat.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the cube steak, ensuring all pieces are covered. Optionally add chopped onions and mushrooms.

Cooking

  • Cover the Crock Pot with its lid and set to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Check the meat for tenderness after the cooking time; it should pull apart easily with a fork.

Serving

  • Serve the cube steak and gravy over rice or creamy mashed potatoes, allowing the sauce to soak into the sides.
