Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 medium butternut squash Peeled and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For coating
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by peeling the butternut squash. Cut off the ends, and slice it in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds from the center with a spoon.
  • Chop the squash into bite-sized cubes, about 1-inch pieces for even cooking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed squash with the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cinnamon.
  • Toss well until all the squash pieces are evenly coated with the oil and spices.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

Cooking

  • Arrange the seasoned squash pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding for the best results.
  • Cook the squash for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping.
  • Check for doneness by piercing a piece with a fork; it should be tender and have a golden brown, crispy exterior.
  • Once done, remove the squash from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, cut the squash into uniform pieces and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Allowing good air circulation helps achieve that golden finish.
