Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (your choice of variety) Choose firm apples like Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Granny Smith.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice To prevent browning.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) For added flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional) Adjust according to sweetness preference.
  • Cooking spray or oil for air frying To help crisp up the chips.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the apples thoroughly under running water. Pat them dry with a clean towel.
  • Core the apples and slice them into thin rounds, aiming for about 1/8 inch thick slices.
  • Toss the apple slices with lemon juice in a bowl to prevent browning.
  • Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl (if using) and sprinkle the mixture over the apple slices. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).

Cooking

  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overlap.
  • Lightly spray the apple slices with cooking spray or brush with a small amount of oil.
  • Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Monitor closely toward the end to prevent burning.
  • Let the apple chips cool down after cooking; they will become crispier as they cool.
