This Creamy Tomato Pasta is a cozy, satisfying dish that brings together rich tomato flavor with the luxurious texture of cream. Quick to make and full of flavor, it's perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings with friends.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
While the pasta cooks, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add tomato paste and tomato sauce to the skillet, stirring until well combined. Pour in heavy cream and add Italian seasoning. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Add a pinch of sugar if the sauce is too acidic.
Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
Serve immediately with freshly grated parmesan cheese on top.
Notes
Feel free to customize with red pepper flakes, cooked chicken, or vegetables like spinach or mushrooms. For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
