  • 1 cup heavy cream Creates the creamy sauce.
  • 1 medium onion, diced Enhances the flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds depth to the sauce.
  • 1 cup frozen peas For color and nutrition.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the chicken.
  • 2 teaspoons paprika For seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme For additional flavor.

Instructions
 

Cooking Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • When the oil is hot, add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
  • Add the heavy cream to the skillet, then mix in the chicken broth and dried thyme. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Combining Ingredients

  • Stir in the rice and peas, ensuring everything combines well.
  • Nestle the cooked chicken breasts back into the skillet.
  • Cover with a lid, reduce the heat, and let it cook gently for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.

Finishing Up

  • Once done, taste for seasoning and adjust if necessary.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
