Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place the four boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of the crock pot.
  • In a mixing bowl, blend together the ranch dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth until well combined.
  • Pour the ranch mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring each piece is coated.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cover the crock pot with its lid and set to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.

Cooking

  • About 30 minutes before cooking time ends, check the chicken's doneness. It should be cooked through and easy to shred.
  • Shred the chicken right in the crock pot using two forks.
  • Add sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese to the cooked chicken and stir until well mixed.
  • Cover and let cook for an additional 30 minutes on low.

Serving

  • Serve the Creamy Ranch Chicken over rice, pasta, or a bed of greens.
  • Top with chopped green onions if desired.
