  • 8 ounces your favorite pasta (farfalle, penne, or fettuccine)

Beef and Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (preferably lean)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (or a mix of oregano, basil, and thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Begin by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside while you prepare the sauce.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Once the beef is browned, reduce the heat to low. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, stirring well to combine.
  • Sprinkle in the dried Italian herbs and let the mixture simmer gently for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it melts smoothly into the sauce.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the beef and sauce mixture, tossing to coat every piece evenly.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately.
