  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Ensure it's softened for better mixing.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Use packed for the right sweetness.
  • 2 pieces eggs They should be at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Spoon into measuring cup and level off.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate chips.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the granulated sugar and packed brown sugar, and beat until well combined.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until everything is combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Prepare baking sheets leaving them ungreased.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
