Cooking Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients and ensure you have sterilized jars ready for the finished product.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, sugar, and water. Stir the ingredients together to mix well.
  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir occasionally as the mixture begins to heat up.
  • Continue to cook this mixture for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the cranberries to burst and the marmalade to thicken.
  • Once the cranberries have broken down, add the ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg, stirring well.
  • If using bourbon, add it now for extra depth of flavor.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let the marmalade cool slightly.
  • Pour the warm marmalade into prepared sterilized jars, leaving a bit of headspace, and seal tightly.
  • Refrigerate your jars directly or process them in a water bath for long-term storage.
