  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • as desired Optional mix-ins (chocolate chips, nuts, etc.) Customize with your favorite mix-ins.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the condensed milk and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix well until fully combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined. If you're using mix-ins, fold them in at this stage.

Baking

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each dough ball.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a softer cookie, consider chilling the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 5 to 7 days or freeze for longer storage.
