  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional Enhancers

  • 1 tablespoon espresso powder for stronger coffee flavor
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks folded in before baking

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together the cooled coffee and melted butter in a mixing bowl.
  • Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, sift cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder if using.
  • Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

To intensify the coffee flavor, use espresso powder or dark roast coffee. Make sure not to overmix for a fudgy texture, and allow brownies to cool before cutting for clean slices.
