Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the vanilla extract and egg to the creamed mixture and mix until well combined.

Combining Ingredients

  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the shredded coconut and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown, but centers are still soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
