Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 4 large large eggs, separated Make sure eggs are at room temperature.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar Helps stabilize egg whites.
  • 2 ounces low-fat cream cheese Should be softened.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning Adds flavor to the bread.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adjust to taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  • Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Separate the eggs, placing the whites in a stand mixer bowl.

Meringue

  • Add cream of tartar to the egg whites and beat on high speed until firm peaks form, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the meringue to a separate bowl.

Yolk Mixture

  • In the same mixer bowl, add softened cream cheese and beat until smooth.
  • Add egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each.
  • Mix in the Italian herb seasoning, sea salt, and garlic powder.

Combine and Bake

  • Gently fold the meringue into the yolk mixture.
  • Spoon the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets, forming circles about 4 inches wide.
  • Bake in the oven for 15 to 30 minutes, until golden brown and firm to the touch.

Cooling

  • Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
